LOBBY SUPERVISION

Our Lobby Youth Spaces in Marton & Taihape are always looking for fun, vibrant and enthusiastic volunteers to man the space. The Lobby’s are currently open 3-5pm each day with a range of activities on offer. We’re also always open to fun new ideas that attract youth and bring our community together. NGA WAIRIKI O NGATI APA – MARIPI TUATINI

Maripi Tuatini is a Ngā Wairiki Ngāti Apa secondary school aged rangatahi leadership programme.

The purpose of Maripi Tuatini is to ensure that we have access to a pool of talented iwi members in the future who are imbued with a strong Ngā Wairiki and Ngāti Apa identity, and who are culturally, financially, socially and environmentally competent. Check that out here.

100% SWEET WHANGANUI

is a local approach to ensuring our school leavers are engaged in further education, training and employment, the name is our goal ‘100% of Students in Whanganui and Rangitikei in Education Employment and Training’.  They work closely with four main groups, Business, Tertiary Providers, Secondary schools and Secondary school teachers.  Check it out here

  Scholarships

The Rangitikei District Council offers scholarships for tertiary education to school leavers through Taihape Area School and Rangitikei College.  Touch base with your Year Dean to find out more.

Mayor Andy Watson is always on the look out to nominate Rangitikei youth who would benefit from an opportunity to spend 21 days developing themselves and their skill base.  Through the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs in collaboration with Outward Bound there is opportunity for youth 16-18 and 18 – 24 to experience an adventure that will challenge you, reveal your true strengths and where you will gain a real sense of independence and a new positive mindset – open to whatever challenges come your way.
