Maori Language Week

Because New Zealand is revitalising the Māori language and a part of that is celebration of our success and promoting te reo Māori. Māori language week is an opportunity for concentrated celebration, promotion and encouragement. And every minute of every hour of every day is a Māori language minute – we can choose to use te reo – every time we do, even just a ‘Kia ora!’ contributes to revitalisation.

This is the last Community Planting Day for 2019. Celebrate Conservation week and help us get the last of the trees in the ground before Summer! Just bring a spade and some boots. G.J.’s Clean Up Week is back for 2019, running from the 9-15 September. Registrations are now open so get your school, business or local community group together to participate in New Zealand’s largest clean up event.

Join us from 14–22 September to celebrate 50 years of Conservation Week! With more than 4,000 species threatened or at risk, nature needs us to take action now. You can take part by doing a conservation activity or attending an event.

Mental Health Awareness Week
Removing Barriers 12 -5pm

Removing Barriers is a collaboration between respective organisation aimed at reducing stigma and discrimination associated to those with lived experiences of mental illness. The focus of the event on 23 Sept is on rangatahi health and well-being and the support that is available to them in the Whanganui region. There will be fun games and activities form different services in our community aimed to education and raise awareness
